A Little More about Us
Urogynecology Associates has five full time physicians who specialize exclusively in Urogynecology problems. We also employ a full time Clinical Nurse Specialist who specializes in Adult Health and Chronic Illness. Urogynecology is a relatively new specialty dealing with bladder and bowel problems and pelvic floor prolapse (“falling” of organs) in women. These problems are widespread, affecting one out of every two or three women in the United States. To achieve better care for women with these problems, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Urology have accredited special training programs (Fellowships) to ensure the development of quality providers for the future. Urogynecology Associates is the home of the first accredited Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship program in the nation. Our “Fellows” are all fully-trained Board Certified or Board Eligible Obstetricians / Gynecologists, who train an additional three-years in this subspecialty. The Fellow must provide patient care and must conduct research aimed at improving the quality of care for patients with urogynecologic problems. Dr. Hale is the director of the Fellowship Program and Dr. Patrick Woodman is a supervising physician. Our current fellows include Drs., Colleen D. McDermott, Jean Park, and Dr. Seth Kasturi. Although you may see more than one physician over the course of your care, we feel this enables us to provide you today’s highest quality care for Urogynecologic problems. We strive to provide the highest quality care possible in an educational atmosphere designed to improve tomorrow’s quality healthcare. Our doctors are Medicare and Medicaid providers and are also contracted with many other insurance companies as well. Please check with your insurance carrier to confirm that you may be seen in our office and if your insurance carrier requires any referral or prior authorization. |
